Aris Rodriguez of Reading High talks with SV Sports postgame.

Aris Rodriguez admitted that Ruben Rodriguez got on his case at halftime of the Berks Conference Championship. The 6'5 senior guard had made just one shot and top-seeded Reading trailed Exeter 33-30 at Santander Arena. Aris Rodriguez erupted for 13 points in the fourth quarter as the Red Knights rallied to beat the Eagles 70-63 in front of nearly 4,200 fans. "It was beautiful. Reading always comes out. That atmosphere in Reading is amazing, especially for a championship game. It's gonna be even crazier for District's and State's," said Rodriguez. The (24-1) Red Knights were down 57-47 with four and a-half minutes remaining. They turned up the defensive pressure which led to an 18-0 run. "We're conditioned so we're built for moments like this. They were drained," remarked Rodriguez. Aris went 1-of-7 from beyond the arc, but the 3-pointer he made gave Reading a 59-57 advantage with two minutes left. The crowd erupted as he drilled that shot from the left corner for three of his 17 points. Ruben Rodriguez poured in a game-high 23 points to go along with 11 rebounds and 7 steals. The two-time Berks County Player of the Year surpassed former Reading and current Lakers guard Lonnie Walker for tenth place on the county's all-time scoring list. Ruben Rodriguez, who's committed to Rider, is up to 1,838 points. Senior point guard Zyion Paschall led the (19-6) Eagles with a career-high 20 points. 6'7, 280-pound center Anthony Caccese added 17. He's headed to Delaware for football. Exeter has lost 29 consecutive games to the Red Knights. The Eagles were looking for their first Berks Conference title since 1974. Exeter was 5-10 from the foul line, while Reading finished 28-46. Paul Roberts of SV Sports asked Aris Rodriguez what it's like to be part of a program that has won a record 25 county championships. "It's another blessing...to be part of that history is amazing," replied Rodriguez.
