Berks Catholic senior and Millersville commit Olivia Jones

The Berks Catholic girls volleyball team is playing well at the right time.  The Saints extended their winning streak to seven with a 3-0 victory (25-11, 25-8, 25-16) at rival Wyomissing on Thursday.  Berks Catholic has only dropped one game in its last seven matches.  The Saints are (15-2) overall and a perfect (11-0) in league play.  They wrapped up the Division 2 championship by beating Fleetwood 3-0 on Tuesday.  "We worked really hard all season to accomplish that again so I'm happy about that," Olivia Jones told SV Sports' Paul Roberts.  Jones had six kills, six digs, and three aces in a balanced attack against Wyomissing.  Celia Evans came up with eleven digs.  Paisley Hook added seven kills, three aces, and a pair of blocks.  Marli Emrich dished out 22 assists.  Emrich and Jones have been playing volleyball together since fifth grade.  "We're still really close, she's my best friend. That bond is really strong between us," replied Jones.  Emrich surpassed 1,000 career assists this year.  Jones, an all-county selection a season ago, is committed to Millersville University.  "I love the coaching staff and the campus...I visited other colleges and I kept going back to Millersville. This is where I feel like I'm at home," she said.  The Berks County playoffs begin on October 19th.  The Saints will be competing with Division 1 powers Wilson and Twin Valley.  "I'm really excited," emphasized Jones.
