Earl and Ayden Wise talk with SV Sports
If you spend just a few minutes with Earl and Ayden Wise, you can see that they have a great father-son relationship. They go back-and-forth about who's better on the court like two guys in a barber shop. They're spending even more time together now that Earl Wise is the head basketball coach at Alliance Christian in Birdsboro. Ayden is a 5'10 guard for the Gryphons. Earl believes that his son is one of the top freshmen in the area. "If you get close to him, he's gonna go by you. If you play off of him, he's gonna shoot it...he can score at all three levels," said Coach Wise. Ayden kicked off the season with a bang. He poured in 27 points in the Gryphons' second game. They outlasted High Point 64-63 in overtime. "It was a big confidence booster going into the beginning of the season," remarked Ayden. He's leading Alliance Christian in scoring at 16 points per game. Ayden has connected a team-high 26 times from beyond the arc. Earl Wise also serves as CEO of the Berks Warriors, an AAU organization. They have a squad filled with talented freshmen including Kingston McKoy (Berks Catholic), Weshly Rosario (Reading), Mike Miller (Muhlenberg), and Aidan Dauble (Exeter). "Ayden and those guys all get a chance to come together like Voltron," joked Coach Wise. He's excited that the Berks Warriors will be playing on the New Balance national circuit this year. Earl and Ayden had fun telling SV Sports' Paul Roberts about their favorite sports movie, rapper, and food. They also weighed in on who is the best NBA player of all time.
