Wilson senior QB Tommy Hunsicker

Not even multiple delays for lightning could slow down Wilson quarterback Tommy Hunsicker against Cheltenham.  The 6'1, 185-pound senior ran for three touchdowns and threw for two more scores in a 40-26 victory at John Gurski Stadium.  The game was postponed from Saturday night until Monday afternoon due to severe storms.  "It felt a little bit like a JV game. You're your own energy. We had to adapt to it. It was nothing like any of us had ever experienced before," said Hunsicker.  The (1-2) Bulldogs raced out to a 33-0 lead.  The (0-2) Panthers got three touchdowns from Tre McLeod to make things interesting.  The 5'10, 190-pound senior running back has numerous Division I offers including Penn State, Pittsburgh, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, and Nebraska.  McLeod scored on a 34-yard run, an 81-yard punt return, and an 89-yard fumble return.  Cheltenham recovered an onside kick with 5:22 remaining, but Wilson's defense held firm.  The Bulldogs outgained the Panthers 403-231.  Hunsicker was 21-27 for 291 yards.  Both of his TD passes went to 6'2 senior Eddie Case.  He finished with six receptions for 173 yards after missing Wilson's first two games with a right elbow injury.  "It's awesome. Our chemistry has grown through the years. It's great to have another receiver back, especially to give our guys some more rest," Hunsicker told SV Sports' Paul Roberts.  Hunsicker, who also plays basketball and baseball, has completed 62% of his attempts this year for 718 yards and 5TD.  He's added five touchdowns on the ground.  The Bulldogs suffered losses to Roman Catholic and Central Dauphin before defeating Cheltenham.  "That was a good test for us too. These three teams are gonna be some of the fastest and biggest teams that we play," noted Hunsicker.  Wilson currently holds the state record with 47 consecutive winning seasons.
