Wyomissing freshman RB/DB Justice Hardy

The word freshman is next to Justice Hardy's name on the Wyomissing roster, but he certainly doesn't play like one.  The 5'9, 160-pound running back and corner is living up to all of the hype.  Hardy scored three times in the Spartans' 35-7 victory over rival Berks Catholic on Saturday afternoon.  It was his first taste of the "Backyard Brawl."  Hardy replied, "It was probably the most fun I've ever had playing football...I was super excited. It was a great experience."  His 5-yard touchdown run put Wyomissing up 14-0 in the first quarter.  Hardy returned an interception 23 yards for a score with one minute left before halftime.  "They ran that play earlier in the game so we all knew it was coming," he told SV Sports' Paul Roberts.  Hardy added a 31-yard TD grab late in the third quarter for the final margin.  He finished with seven carries for 54 yards.  The (4-0) Spartans are ranked #2 in the state in Class 3A.  They've won 39 consecutive regular season games.  Wyomissing shares the wealth in its Wing-T attack.  Hardy is averaging 8.4 yards per carry with 3 TD this year.  Two of his four receptions have resulted in scores, including the game-winning catch with 14 seconds remaining at state-ranked Trinity.  Hardy prefers the defensive side of the football.  His favorite cornerback is Jalen Ramsey.  Hardy hasn't let all of the attention go to his head.  "I have a lot of people around me to keep me humble. I know I still have a lot of work to do. The coaches help me a lot," he said.  The Spartans host undefeated ELCO this Saturday afternoon.
